Blues Grammy Award Nominees Announced

The nominees for the 52nd Grammy Awards have been announced, and they include husband and wife Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi going head-to-head. The nominees are:
Best Contemporary Blues Album:
* The Robert Cray Band- This Time
* Ruthie Foster- The Truth According to Ruthie Foster
* Mavis Staples- Live: Hope at the Hideout
* Susan Tedeschi- Back to the River
* The Derek Trucks Band- Already Free
Best Traditional Blues Album:
* Ramblin' Jack Elliott- A Stranger Here
* The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band Featuring Rick Vito- Blue Again
* John Hammond- Rough and Tough
* Duke Robillard- Stomp! The Blues Tonight
* Various Artists- Chicago Blues: A Living History
The Soundtrack for Cadillac Records, Buckwheat Zydeco's Lay Your Burden Down, and Little Walter: The Chess Masters 1950-1967 received nominations in other categories.
The Grammy Awards will be handed out January 31st, 2010, in Los Angeles. The above nominees are all available in our Amazon Blues Music Store.

The BMAs will take place May 6, 2010 at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Also garnering multiple nominations are Tommy Castro, Rick Estrin, and Duke Robillard.
